1. What this is
Radiologic Viewers is a public, permanent showcase of DICOM viewers built by anyone. The goal is to show new ideas for a viewer, not to compare products. There is no deadline, there is no prize in cash, product or service, and taking part is free. The organizer is Radiologic, a brand of MEDLABZ CONSULTORIA LTDA, Brazilian CNPJ 62.761.039/0001-89.
2. Who can take part
- People aged 18 or older, from any country, alone or as a team.
- Radiologists, residents, other physicians, developers, students, physicists and the curious.
- A person or team may publish more than one viewer, as long as they are different projects.
3. What can be submitted
A viewer is accepted when it meets every item below.
- A demo people can use. A web viewer needs a public address that opens with a study already loaded, with no sign-up. A desktop, mobile or extended reality viewer needs a download or TestFlight link and a video of up to 3 minutes.
- Open source. The repository must be public and carry a declared open source license. If you build on an existing project (OHIF, Cornerstone3D, vtk.js, dwv and others), declare the base and respect its license.
- A complete entry. Name, tagline, description, what makes it different, platform, technology base, source and license of the demo data, and at least one screenshot.
- Transparency about AI. If the viewer sends images or metadata to an external service (for example, a language model API), that must be declared in the entry. The list of models and agents used to write the code is optional and welcome.
Projects that existed before the challenge may take part.
Not accepted: closed source commercial products, pages that only redirect to another product, copies of someone else's project with no contribution of your own, and illegal or offensive content.
4. Patient data
- You may not use, in the demo, the screenshots or the video, any study from a real patient that does not come from a public dataset with a declared license. That includes your own studies and those of relatives or patients, even if you consider them anonymized.
- Use the challenge data kit or another public dataset, and state the source and license in the entry.
- Head studies are accepted only when the source dataset already distributes them in a way that prevents face reconstruction.
- A submission with identifiable data is removed as soon as it is noticed, without prior notice.
5. Not for clinical use
The viewers published here are experimental projects for education and research. They are not medical devices, they are not cleared by ANVISA, the FDA or any other authority, and they must not be used for diagnosis or care decisions. Each demo must display this notice visibly. Participants may not claim that a viewer is fit for diagnostic use.
6. Moderation
- Every submission and every screenshot is reviewed before it appears on the site. The expected turnaround is up to 7 days.
- Review checks compliance with these rules. It does not judge quality or taste.
- A rejected submission returns to the author with the reason and may be fixed and resubmitted.
- The organizer may remove at any time a viewer whose demo stays offline for more than 30 days, that no longer complies with the rules, or that is the subject of a substantiated removal request.
7. Voting
- Votes are the only form of ranking. There is no jury.
- To vote you sign in with a Google or GitHub account. Each account gets one vote per viewer and may vote for as many viewers as it likes. A vote can be withdrawn.
- Authors may vote for their own viewer and may ask colleagues and discussion groups for votes.
- Creating accounts only to vote, using automation, and buying or trading votes are not allowed. The organizer may void votes and block accounts when it finds these patterns, and logs every voided vote.
- The site shows vote counts. It does not show who voted for what.
8. Monthly highlights
On the first day of each month, the three viewers that received the most votes in the previous month join the highlights page. The month follows Brasília time. In a tie, the viewer approved earlier ranks first. The same viewer may be highlighted in more than one month. A highlight is public recognition and carries no prize.
9. Rights
- Authors keep ownership of their viewer and of everything they submit.
- By submitting, the author states that they hold the rights to what was sent and grants Radiologic a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to display the viewer's name, description, screenshots, video and links on the site, on social media and in materials promoting the challenge, always with credit.
- The permission lasts while the viewer is published. If the author deletes the submission, the material leaves the site. Posts already made on social media and the viewer's name in highlights of closed months may remain.
10. Removal and contact
To request removal of a viewer, or to report patient data, a license violation or any other problem, write to caminha@radiologic.io. Requests about patient data take priority.
11. Liability
Each author is responsible for the content, code, data and operation of their viewer. Radiologic does not guarantee the availability, security or fitness of the listed viewers and is not liable for damage caused by their use.
12. Changes
These rules may change. The version in force is always on this page, with its date. Relevant changes are sent by email to authors with a published viewer. If the Portuguese and English versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
13. Law and venue
These rules follow Brazilian law. The venue is the courts of the city of Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil.
